About the Name – Lû’nsɔ̀
Lû’nsɔ̀ (pronounced: lou-n-soh) means “the spoon used to pierce” in Fe'efe'e, a language spoken in the Haut-Nkam department of Cameroon's West region, craddle of the Bamiléké culture.
Interestingly, there is no native word for “fork” in Bamileke culture — because our ancestors never used forks. Meals were shared and savored with spoons, hands, and heart. By naming this entire cutlery set Lû’nsɔ̀, we honor that truth: that the spoon was the original utensil of our people, a symbol of nourishment, closeness, and tradition.
